Hi fishes, what are the chances of Pwc AC bangalore rescinding an offer given the current market condition? The role in my offer letter seems to be pretty generic and during interviews, it didn't look like, they were interviewing for a particular project or team. I have doubts specifically because of HR's behaviour during the whole recruitment process where they never responded to my emails or calls. Is this normal practice?

With the amount of BS involved in editing script copy and tailoring feedback to lost clients, I’m honestly not worried
i hear ya on the script doctors. Seems like we'll be "shaping" ideas as freelance Uber drivers.
Im not as pessimistic as others, I see copywriters being around because advertisers need branding and scripts need humor or the ability to stroke emotional chords. If you’re writing BS content designed for SEO I see that going away.
Exactly. I basically see generative AI as the death blow to SEO. Much of the internet/search may end up as some of the casualties.
I’m not that worried about it. AI at this point is nowhere near replacing a skilled writer or creative, nor is it really all that economically viable. There are major, major energy issues to solve that are not even on the verge of being cracked. It’s an over-expensive, underperforming product propped up by investor money, with no path to being profitable
Not that worried, TBH. I work on brands that require legal review (pharma, finance, high-tech).
You can't fire AI when it does something wrong. I know it is counter intuitive, but they really cannot just let the robots do it because someone has to be able to be held responsible.
Could be wrong. I'll let you know after my meeting with HR that just popped up on my calendar...
Lawyers will be replaced by AI even sooner than I will. You won’t have legal reviews, you’ll have Clippy popping up as you type, to tell you when you can’t say something.
As far as I can tell pretty much every white collar job seems like 95%+ replaceable tbh. I don’t see copy as any more screwed than anyone else
You are cooked friend. And once AI can analyze full social video clips my role is done as well.
My eccentric taste and unique lived-experience (in comparison to most Strat) might be the only thing that keeps me confident against AI-marketing tools.
Rising Star
I disagree a bit and it’s not because i don’t think AI is good, but that the data is bad.
They’re ingesting any and all writing to train these models. You know what most writing is? Bad. Like… really bad.
That’s not a problem for sending work emails. It is a problem for being persuasive, funny, or contextual or original. The models aren’t built to write for an audience, but rather write for a pattern or format.
I think these tools are amazing and i don’t mean to beat them up, but even now try asking it to “write in the style of Eminem” and it will fail. And it’s ringing up a huge compute bill while trying.
I do think copy for banner ads completely goes away, but we pretend those ad units are worth something. The clicks are fake, the copy is bad, and banner blindness and ad blockers are only getting more prevalent. It’s borderline criminal we even sell them.
Clearly you haven’t tried to write with AI.
Even if AI was as good as some believe I still spend about 80% of my time connecting not writing so I’m not scared yet.
AI capabilities are amazing. But I think we’ve all experienced its shortcomings. It will get better. But can it steer the ship? I don’t think so. In some ways, it really is just hype. Once brands learn they can’t rely on it to save a buck the way they were told they could, we’ll see our value shoot back up.
