Seriously. Like, clapping of hands? Huzza!!! Behold! They have done their jobs!
Typically, it goes something like this: "Great job everyone-work was great and the client loved it."
That happens a few times. Your ability to work with limited supervision is noted in your review. You get promoted.
I encourage anyone to show initiative and brings hinges to the work without me having to ask. It adds the energy of any project. Those self-initiated additions may not get used, or they might be inappropriate or terrible. But the effort is always encouraged because they might actually be good
@SAD1 absolutely. Should've worded this post differently. Every single task doesn't warrant a pat on the back and I'm sure many efforts are (hopefully) recorded and considered when it's review time. Just wanted to see what Creative Directors think and if they had a preference of being directly involved at every step or just tweaking and guiding. I'm sure it also depends on the project.
I usually start with a slow clap
I always give all of my team members props for good work. Not because they are children who need to be constantly validated. Because I like to foster an environment where people are motivated to perform. Recognition is an easy way to do that.
I also say thank you when warranted. It’s the simple things.
Thank you for understanding the question @CD1!
I generally don’t applaud people doing the job they were hired for, no.
Nah, just wondering if some CDs get excited that their influence is there or if they prefer to be directly involved all the time
