They match on the amount you’re paid in the tax year. So it’d be 6% of the 75k
Rising Star
Earnings for the year
You mean 401k? Entire 6%
What if it is lumpy by paycheck … I.e contribute nothing one paycheck but a bunch the next
Refer to your plan documentation on when the match is provided. Some employers do 6% earnings every employee contribution / paycheck (assuming you’ve contributed 6% or more), others only contribute the match once a year, some have a true-up so they are contributing the max despite when you add in your contribution, etc. Typically it is based on earned salary within the year, not what is stated as your “base”
Just noticed that you work at Deloitte - when I worked at Deloitte 3 years ago it they put in the match once a year near the end of the fiscal year (calculated based on earned salary throughout the fiscal year)

Also depends how much you invest in the 401k. It’s a match. So a dollar for dollar match of what you contribute, up to a maximum of 6% of your salary.
Carry the 1…

You’ll be matched, provided you elect to contribute 6%+ from each paycheck, from earnings after employed. The match usually occurs at the time of each pay deposit.
