What do they do? If it’s not the same industry, it isn’t particularly fair to you to compare. As they say, comparison is the thief of joy. People out there making 50k a year at 55 years old. Like.. most people.

This is the only rational response here 😂
Would OP be making 300k as SAE in tech?
We have no idea what OP is comparing themselves against.
And "work as hard as everyone else" is simply untrue.
There are people working less and making more. There are people working more and making less.
This is mostly an emotionally charged vent.
Pay, enjoyment, PTO. Those are the things I find important in a job. When the average salary in the US is under 60k + 2-3 weeks of PTO yearly and so many people hate their jobs...it's a good thing to step back and realize working in something you love that pays decent and has decent benefits (maybe not amazing but still above average) is a privilege. Your weighing yourself against the top 2% based on salary alone which Yes, if pay is your biggest motivator then negotiate pay or move elsewhere but if you really think your job is fun that's something not everyone has. Don't focus on what others have and focus on what you have and what you can do to reach whatever goals you want to reach. Salaries can be negotiated, happiness not so much.

It isn’t fun anymore. It used to be. Regardless though, it doesn’t pay the bills. It’s this way b/c the agencies made it this way. Not the response you’re looking for but it’s the truth. GTFO of agencies and go client side; specifically tech.

Don't we remember when Lyft and Uber laid off most of their creatives? I know creatives at both who left.
Supply & demand - jobs that require special skills or additional school have a smaller talent pool to choose from. Sorry that’s not encouraging, but it‘s a hard truth. 😒
You’re an SAE making less than 100? Yeah def getting underpaid
I posted in fishbowl asking what others made with my title and they were at or very close to my salary. I just asked for a raise and my agency shot me down so I'm planning on leaving
Go client side you’ll make more
How do I find brands to work for? It feels so much harder than agencies bc I already know agencies.
