Received an offer for Director of BD comp. What's the typical base for a private clinical stage company?

Just got my first job offer as a systems engineer. Base salary is 106k with 10k signing bonus. I have a MS and BS in engineering and have interned at the company many times. Is this a good offer? The company is located in SoCal, and I know cost of living is pretty high.

I got an offer for 65k from a tech startup for a Digital Marketing Specialist role and I countered HR with 72k as the firm baseline salary I wanted. They took that back to the team and shortly thereafter I received an email from one of the cofounders asking to meet to “reach an agreement”. I know this means they want to talk me down, but their benefits are pretty lean (health, vision, dental, ‘unlimited’ paid vacation, and a $1k prof dev stipend. How do I stand firm without scaring them off?

I have 4.5 years of experience and MBA from IIM Indore. Current CTC in an Indian MNC is 27.8 with 24.8 aa fixed.

Need a sanity check. I've got an offer at a mid sized biotech - SM level, $165k + 15% bonus + 15% RSU (annual award so won't come into the picture into year 2) and a $22k sign on bonus. From what I understand, that's good comp (MCOL area) for the title, but as an EM at a life sciences consulting firm (10 YOE), I feel like I should shoot more for AD or D level.

If I take the offer, is it realistic to look for a director offer in a couple years, or would most companies target AD after SM?
