Hi there, I’ve been told that Deloitte (London, UK) is going to make me an offer but haven’t heard back and it’s been over two weeks. The recruiter mentioned it would be around the “m2 grade”. Any idea what this pay range is? … I have 3 YOE working in NHS finance and have applied for a position in Risk Advisory, public sector. Curious what life at Deloitte is like? Does a work life balance exist?

This isn’t about the hours/comp, but about the mental aspect of it. Are you able to deal with death? If you get a Heme/onc to speak candidly with you, it can be a lot handle. I had one describe it as “he had to become accustomed to killing patients in pursuit of treatment” due to the lack of effective options for the tough cases they routinely get. Obviously not always the case, but just don’t underestimate that part of WLB.
Consulting has better WLB than a heme onc in my experience (I’m in consulting and my dad was a heme onc who was always on and always working)
Wlb will depend, but you can negotiate to work <FTE as an oncologist, which you can’t do in pharma.
You have a higher comp ceiling in pharma. SD is about the same pay as an oncologist (depending on practice), and VP is much higher
