How do you decide how much notice to give when you're leaving a firm to go to a competitor? I know that no matter how much notice I give, they'll walk me out the day I give it. I don't want to be in limbo for 2-4 weeks while my licenses are still held by the former firm before I can start at the new one. But I also don't want to burn a bridge by resigning effective immediately. Would appreciate some insight from other W2 advisors who have moved firms before.

Anyone switched from Becker to Wiley and regretted it? I did and though I appreciate the bite-sized lectures, I don't enjoy it as much as Becker. When you look to choosing a position to apply for and lets assume you get to be choosy - will you go for a org with big HR team or smaller HR team? Currently an hrbp for a medium global org with 10 hrbps in the Americas org supporting different groups/ regions like i support canada and a business group - looking at a role where hrbp report to sr hrbp and she reports to Vp of HR. The TA Manager reports to the VP of Hr as well. Sounds like a smaller HR team - are there any benefits to this move?
