Receiving a 1% bonus actually was more hurtful than if the firm were just like “No raises this year” lol. But I will stop complaining given the job market right now. I’m thankful to be employed.

Can I have your bonus? Giving it to me will make you feel less hurt.

1% is my career high at being a top performer at IBM for half a decade. Count your blessings

A 20% bonus is less total value than a 2% raise even if you put it into the market for a year, never forget

If your base is $125k, a 2% raise will get you to $127.5k. Next year, if you also get a 2% raise, it will be 2% of $127.5k instead of $125k.

What’s a bonus?

Yea… my employer gave me a bigger bonus rather than give me a raise.

Cash now is nice but I was really looking forward to a decent raise…

Id rather have a 1% bonus than a 0% bonus tbh. Count your blessings.

You guys getting raises out there?

You’re one of the proverbial 1%

I'm currently in a consulting manager role internal to a well regarded pharma company. However, i have been contacted about a role at IQVIA for a new pure strategy internal group that they are standing up. It would be a 55% salary boost with director title and completely remote. Should I consider it? The salary increase and location flexibility are alluring.

What is a good salary tab to be at for a consultant role with an international NGO? The profile is Marketing Communications. This will be my first time gig in India after working abroad and also a first time consulting opportunity.

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

Hi all,
I’m currently working for a small technical consulting start-up firm. I make good money, have great benefits, and they seem very happy with the work I’m doing, so I know I could move up quickly. However, tech consulting is definitely not my dream job. I want to get into data analytics, and I have an offer from a big company to do just that. I’ve only been at my current company for about 8 months, but I don’t ever see myself loving this job. How do I know when it’s time to make a change?
