Realize that life isn't perfect and you aren't entitled to sh*t. A garage and a driveway is a nice luxury, enjoy it. Seek gratitude for what you have and it will help you tolerate your current circumstances. In two years you can sell it for a tax free gain if you want. No house is perfect.
Hold it for a couple months and sell it for a small profit to buy another home
Brokers commission itself will eat into incremental appreciation + less than an year will invite tax if by chance still any profit
That is a big no in Real Estate. You cannot solve that. Sell it
Is your concern that there’s no street parking or that you are on a street with some traffic? I wouldn’t care at all about not having street parking. Do you have 5 cars? Being in a busier street might be an issue if you have kids but otherwise I don’t see the impact.
I have a kid which is part of my concern and looking to have a few more. Also concerned about having guests over and where they’d park easily, and about general flow of traffic and the annoyance of it. How have people dealt with it?
They can yes but not as convenient when trying to exit
Is there parking within a couple minutes walking distance from house? How far back is the house from the street?
We are on a semi busy street but the house is tucked back probably 60 feet from the street so it’s not a concern. People park on the side street right next to us and it’s a one minute walk. Not a big deal at all.
Ignore the above comment. Most people aren’t on streets that are no outlet or little to no traffic. You bought in a nice neighborhood which is the most important thing for your family. You want that over what you’d get in a house that has everything you may want but not so great neighborhood without good schools etc. All about trade offs (unless you’re super rich).
My recommendation is give it a year and see how you like it. You should know by then. Good luck!
Thanks! Yes there’s some side street parking. Maybe about 50 feet
Hire a Concrete/asphalt company to put in speed bumps 100 yards on both sides of your house
I didn’t say do it in an illegal manner. Go through the right process to do it.
