Recently interviewed for a position where they were looking for someone who could concept, direct video, shoot the video, light stuff, edit things, color said things, and also have 3D skills. The recruiter called it a unicorn opportunity, I politely told them they are looking for 5 jobs in 1 and than I was going to pass. Is this what it is like now for AD roles? I’m proficient in multiple software but that was wild.

Respectfully, if the only person you are directing is yourself, it’s not an art director role.

CD1, direction of any craft implies delegation. Copywriters don’t need this in their title because it’s entirely possible to write a headline all by yourself.

This is normal. Your skill set as an AD should always be growing whether you’re a lone wolf or managing a team.

Leveling up in this industry is about learning how to get the right outcomes with as little intervention as possible. The more in the weeds you are, the fewer projects you can balance.

This sounds like a content creator role, which most AD job positing have been aka the social art director. This is actually norm for a social art director. I do all that in my current job. It’s possible and can work out well if you are properly resourced and the timelines are good.

Seems that the vaccine that usually takes more than 10 years to develop, test for side effects and go through the regulation process is being very fast tracked to roll out - which is a super great thing to potentially eradicate the virus. on the other side of the spectrum, people with life sciences n healthcare insights, how reliable and safe would you say vaccine (being fast tracked) is...?

A campaign my partner and I thought of went into testing, but died in the process. Same idea, concept, name and execution used on another client/ campaign just a month after, that we weren’t on. Few people from the old team were on this new campaign. We’re disappointed about it and wondering if this is a common thing that happens?
