Honestly, $70k base is really good for an incoming analyst, but you could always suggest $80k and settle for $75k if you really want an increase. I don't have experience with BlackRock but wanted to chime in and say even if they don't want to negotiate, you're still looking at an above-average starting salary.
It never hurts to ask - especially considering that you've already interned there, so you may have a leg up on the competition. Worst that could happen is they stay firm on their offer. In my experience, though, most recruiters and hiring managers expect a counteroffer, so you probably won't have much difficulty hitting the $75k mark. Like M1 said, though, start at $80k so you can negotiate down if they push back.
My number one rule is to always negotiate. In my experience if a company really wants you they will make it happen. I once had a company move money around in budgets to give me the pay I was asking for. It never hurts to ask.
You can negotiate. I think $75-$80k is reasonable. But for me, the offer is already decent and within the minimum.
I recently got a return offer for BlackRock as well. I got 100k offer for incoming analyst in their NY office. The HR recruiter told me that it is non-negotiable and I only had a week to decide. I tried asking for an extension but they wouldn’t budge. They are only open to negotiate if you have another offer pending.
