Your passport is also Real ID compliant. So it’s $30 to not have to carry the book and instead use the card.
I actually got declined at a casino in Vegas using my passport card as an id since they had never seen it before 🙄
Get it. It's very useful as an ID card when you travel abroad.
My thinking is that it'll work for air travel in case MA is found to be non-compliant. And if MA is fine with DHS, it's still a handy backup to my DL.
If you have or will get Global Entry, use that card instead of a passport card or passport.
Realistically DHS will probably keep extending Real ID exemptions if the states are working towards compliance.
Sure. And while not a passport for air travel, you can argue that it is a official US id in foreign countries. Thus not need to take that booklet out on strolls
Useless unless you travel to Mexico or Canada via car often
I agree with SC1. Will not have to bring your passport everywhere and is realid compliant. $30 is nothing. Also yes, a good backup to DL for flying.
It’s $30. If you think it’ll be of use to you just get it. If it’s not, you’re out $30 nbd.
Yes. I put it in my laptop bag as an extra ID in case something happens to my driver’s License. I also use it as my primary ID when I am abroad and out at night (because I don’t want to risk losing my passport). Last if all I have used it to cross the border into Canada (Vancouver day trip) twice and Mexico (Tijuana) twice
