I’m on Chapter 21 of Becoming where Michelle Obama states people pay more attention to her clothes than her actual words. I can relate to this on a smaller scale. My former manager in 2019 would poke fun at my hair color (I’m going grey and love Overtone) rather than ever give me feedback on my job performance. I finally confronted him and told him I’m not sensitive but it was “getting old.” Can anyone else share a similar circumstance?

I need some advice from advisors who have brought other “Junior” Advisors on. What is a fair split? Currently I have passed on my smaller clients to them, as well as providing consistent leads for them to call and meet with. The individual is working to build their own book of business, but up to now doesn’t have much production. They have only been in the business for about 2 years. I also provide an office and everything that comes with that, and admin assistance. Thanks in advance!

What is your staff to client ratio? How did you determine when to hire add’l help?
We have $50mm AUM, 400+ clients, one licensed advisor, one unlicensed assistant (FT).

I'm looking to add a Branch Office Administrator...anyone have experience with hiring for that position?

I recently left the bank channel and went Indy, I’ve been successful at moving clients and assets over and am just getting started. A former bank advisor colleague has show interest in partnering up. For comparison purposes our AUM and production numbers were comparable. I did more fee based business while he did more VA and insurance business but we both have a fairly balanced product mix. What are thoughts on forming a new partnership? What should I be thinking about while having discussions?

Team Financial Planning Specialist or no?
My team is growing more and more to specializations with investment products. (Insurance, alts, ESG) I’ve been wondering if the Financial Planning role could also be a specialist in our client experience. We have two competing ideas; A financial planning specialist would be able to develop intimate familiarity with the planning software, processes, and human nuances. But would a newclient feel 'bait&switched’ to be handed off for this important process?
