I covered the RIA landscape options in 2009 when I departed as a Club level Producer at UBS and just recently the entire RIA landscape before I made another move from RIA to RIA. I can share my market intelligence and also touch on Investacorp

Reach me. I’m experienced at making the move.

I have found that established advisors avoid broker dealers like Investacorp and instead go the independent RIA route. That doesn’t mean they start their own RIA. Because of scale it typically makes more sense to join a large established RIA.

Where are you located?

Go straight RIA, would be happy to chat if you want.

Look at Cadaretgrant... I've been with them a while and really like them

DM me years of experience in this area a lot of this is about making sure you choose the right independent firm

Looking for some advice/suggestions here. 24 years old, TC is now 110k. I have 40k cash savings. $6,500 in my 401k and $6,400 in Roth IRA. Just was promoted and wondering if that’s too much cash to hold onto AND if contributing to a Roth makes sense. I contribute 7% with 100% match and 10% profit sharing at the end of the year to the 401k. Contributing $550 a month to the Roth. Would appreciate any ideas as I know it’s a good spot but just wanted to see if it’s the smartest approach.

Epic Systems offered me an entry level project management position for $68k starting and it will increase to $70k after the first couple months of training are done. Does anyone know if Epic Systems negotiates for entry level or if this is a good starting salary? The original recruiter I was talking to mentioned that the starting salary would be in the low 70s. Additionally, I would also love to hear about experiences working at Epic too! Thank you!

I took my first Data Science job in a very small company and I had no idea what the job should be like because this was my first.

I ended up doing software design and other engineering tasks during years, not a lot of research or data crunching.

The good part is that I realized that what I really like is to design systems and to program. Now I want to apply for SWE jobs, but afraid that my job title will be a problem. Any tips?

I’m thinking of going to Schwab as an Independent. Can anyone tell me what I should be looking at to make my decision easier?

Do you think it would be better to add a female associate to my practice or a male or do you think it wouldn't matter as long as they're qualified. I know sounds like I'm stepping into a mine field but I'll concede a woman adds different intrinsic attributes to a team- on the other hand, I've already got a wife maybe I should steer clear??

Interested in hearing about anyone who has added a second full time staff person. Current setup is two main advisors (have a few licensed solicitors) and one main admin. Getting to the point where she has too much on her plate. We have been bringing on paid interns to alleviate some of the stress. Thinking about adding another person but unsure that we need an additional full time staff person. Recently heard an employee per every 350-400k of GDC (advisors included) was a good guideline.

In addition he/she would have the opportunity to build and lead a team of other advisors.
For a candidate with 12+ years of experience what would be an appropriate compensation structure (base plus commission %)
Thank you in advance for your help.
