When it is time to hire a new team member? What has worked for you? Online resources like indeed or zip recruiter, local chamber of commerce?

I knew it needed to when I was staying up way to late or blocking off a whole day every week simply for paperwork and managing back office tasks. Independent BD, so expenses are on me for back office support.

I recruited a college kid going into the summer BEFORE his senior year. Had him shadow me for 4 weeks, then hired him and trained him. He lacked a lot of people skills/soft skills, but he learned the hard skills and technical skills pretty quickly.

Found another teammate via ZipRecruiter to train alongside me and obtain his licenses while he took phone calls and was in charge of outbound contact for new leads that came in. He proved to be very determined and in the past year has passed his series 6,63,65 and life license.

One tip when using Zip Recruiter - be sure to be super specific in the description and also include “weed out” questions to help narrow down the candidates. I had about 25 applicants within 5 days. Only 3 of them passed my “weed out” questions to filter for attitude and awareness. Very happy with zip recruiter

Great Q. I've had this conversation with many of your colleagues over the past few weeks.
Touch base with with your External Practice Development Director.
Your Sales Planning & Tracking tools have practice factors you can leverage which demonstrate when it may be time to add staff, a jr. advisor or segment your book and carve a portion of those HHs who either don't value what you provide, aren't taking your advice or flat out are not enjoyable to work with.
As to resources for locating new staff or a jr. Advisor, your Practice Dev Dir can also there by helping identify multiple strategies and firm/external resources which are available.
Go to your Portal > Practice Management > GPS Program > Practice Development team tab (contact External) or drop me a private message and I'll get you connected to your Director.
We'll get you set up.

Hi fishes,

I found different user login related bugs in a website that hamper the user experience.

What is the correct procedure to report those bugs?

Also, can there be any potential scope to get bug bounty for the same?

How to approach this?

I'm planning to send an email with the details of the bugs to the customer care and feedback email of that website.

Thanks a lot.

Team Financial Planning Specialist or no?
My team is growing more and more to specializations with investment products. (Insurance, alts, ESG) I’ve been wondering if the Financial Planning role could also be a specialist in our client experience. We have two competing ideas; A financial planning specialist would be able to develop intimate familiarity with the planning software, processes, and human nuances. But would a newclient feel 'bait&switched’ to be handed off for this important process?

I've interviewed three possible additions to the team as new FAs. I liked the sliding pay scale we had at Edward Jones. Anyone willing to send me a copy of the current EDJ PDF showing the current scale they use, i.e., pay starts high & commission low the scale moves pover 5-6 years to where the pay goes to zero and the commissions (fees) go to max?

Interested in hearing about anyone who has added a second full time staff person. Current setup is two main advisors (have a few licensed solicitors) and one main admin. Getting to the point where she has too much on her plate. We have been bringing on paid interns to alleviate some of the stress. Thinking about adding another person but unsure that we need an additional full time staff person. Recently heard an employee per every 350-400k of GDC (advisors included) was a good guideline.
