Saw this in another bowl, has anyone ever had a student steal from them? How did that turn out for you? Last year, I had large amounts of candy from my prize box stolen on three separate occasions. I emailed all the teachers each time, and we eventually found out it was one of my 4th grade students. I emailed her parents and she confessed. They made her bring me a big bag of candy as restitution. I would never have suspected her!

High school special class (self-contained) teachers: What do you use for planning? I’ve always been an inclusive teacher, so I followed the plan book of my co-teacher. I can’t even decide if I should go digital or paper-based let alone make a final decision! I’ll be teaching 9-11th grade math and 11th grade science. Too many cooks in the kitchen

I love my job in special education, the job may bring quite a bit of stress and exhaustion but nothing compares to the stress of the related service team. OT, PT, speech, BCBA, social worker, etc etc is really what’s killing me this year. It is 23 days into the school year and the team members all make different plans and as a result, nothing is being accomplished. And if paraprofessionals follow ie what OT says but not PT, it cause so much unnecessary conflict!

I have a principal with ZERO sped experience or knowledge observing and rating me. I got all distinguished last year from my AP. He gave me all basics & 2 unsat. He’s told us to not worry about goals
