I am a backend Java engineer, and have solely used Java since I've started my software engineering career about 2 years ago. Hi everyone, I work at an early stage start up that just closed our round A. I just hired a director below me, however when it was time to come up with an offer I was removed from the conversation. The CO-founders said they’d handle the actual offer amount/equity. I joined early so salary is low but I have decent equity. Not sure if they didn’t want me seeing the offer or if this is normal for early start ups.

Why are people so caught up in job title? Literally people have turned down jobs paying 2x their salary because job title is lower. Who cares!!!
