Is anyone’s company shifting to a hybrid in office/wfh model?

Looking for remote opening into Program Management; having over 13 years of experience developing software products in mobile and web platforms. TIA for the help.

HR/LEGAL HELP: I work for a multi-state remote employer. I am doing a classification study of sorts and believe that we may have to reclassify some positions. The impact is moving exempt and salaried positions to non-exempt. This has caused us to consider what states we are/should be hiring from. Any issues with excluding candidates from certain states that may have more stringent pay laws? Appreciate your help!

My lease went up so I moved back home temporarily (out of state) in order to save money (big medical bills due to surgery). I want to work remote/transfer to my company’s Chicago office for a better chance to grow my career (might be able to work on a different account/network after pandemic) and for personal/financial reasons. Note I worked alone prior to pandemic as my team is located in a completely different state. Thoughts on this? How should I start this conversation with my manager?

Saw on LinkedIn that Georgia Pacific is letting vaccinated people return too the office now and soon will let all back who want to be - but if you are unvaccinated you must wear a mask and keep certain distance from others. Unsure of all of the details of that.

Can the hybrid model actually work?

People have gotten so used to just backing meetings up into each other. You logout of one and immediately jump in to another. I remember days full of meetings before but not at this volume.

I struggle believing this practice will cease with any percentage of the workforce at home. I don't subscribe to all or nothing but I'm interested in if this has been addressed. Has anyone's hybrid policy mentioned the future of meeting best practice?

I have a friend at IBM who let me know they will be hybrid, only in office as needed. Not sure when that new policy is starting though
