Seems like he 60/40 portfolio is now dead. What do you think the new standard will be?

Wow RIP 60/40 portfolio, I had no idea

likefunny

Yeah I never knew 60/40 was a thing. Since I started the rule of thumb has been 80/20 or 90/10.

funny

If you have a long time horizon, why not like 80 or 90% equities? Bond returns are so low right now.

A 60/40 portfolio only seems dead because the media and money managers bash it as they want you to work with them or invest in their funds. There is a lot of hype around 100% equities now as a strategy with the newer money managers. There is no evidence to suggest any of the new era strategies consistently outperform a typical 60/40. When you compare a “typical” 100% equity to a “typical” 60/40 set over the last 5,10,20,50 years, the 60/40 wins. That said, nobody can predict the future.

No.

I go crazy at 70/30 but see no reason 60/40 would not still work.

I’m (early30s) about 8 months into a relationship with a 40m. Things are wonderful in every aspect, but he is absolutely atrocious with his finances. I felt it becoming an issue about two months ago. He forgets about auto payments and just generally doesn’t care. I sat down with him and looked at everything and even after talking it out he still continues to stress and it’s now causing me stress. I had a final discussion with him today about it and he went on abt how love isn’t enough for me…

When, or if you set time aside to take care of yourself or do something for yourself, what do you do? I'm realizing I don't really have any "healthy" ways of relaxing outside of work, so drop whatever you got. It's starting to affect my personal life and I'm worried I won't be able to have healthy relationships unless I can take care of myself first.

I’ve hit a plateau on the keto diet (no weight loss in 3 months). So in addition to walking 5 miles a day (been doing this since month 2), on Sunday I started a Beachbody HIIT workout with weights (21 day fix real time). It’s 30 min workout daily and I’m two workouts in and I can barely move. Also, the muscle cramps are for real! Drinking about 80 ounces of water a day and I soaked in an Epsom salt bath last night, any other tips?

Hello 🐠- first time home buyer and closing is in next 45 days. Have a decent Credit score (757) and Worried with fluctuating bond yields/ interest rates . Few friends referred some (3-4) lenders who provided similar rates to me. I’m now confused if I need to keep shopping with a hope for better rates or to stop and lock with better one among these lenders. TIA

My investing strategy is just to DCA into an S&P 500 index fund and keep buying and holding. If I understand correctly, the sole disadvantage this has compared to a tax sheltered retirement account is that the quarterly dividends will be taxed?
