Semi-salary related. If I get let go, and they give me severance, can I negotiate and ask for healthcare instead? I recently heard you can negotiate severance, but I don’t know anyone who has actually done it and what “limitations” are on the table, so to speak.

As far as I know you cannot negotiate severance. Generally, it’s something created by HR with no wiggle room. It doesn’t hurt to try but I think you won’t succeed. You might have better luck if you try with an employment lawyer but they are very expensive.

I was recently laid off and negotiated my severance. It wasnt much. Two weeks additional pay and one month additional health insurance. I first asked my boss if there was any room to negotiate severance. He referred me to HR and I just asked. I said "Ive been researching and it looks like 2 weeks for every year of employment is pretty standard. Given my time here and my age Im anticipating securing new work is going to be slow. Is there any room for negotiating this up? HR came back the next day with the new terms. The additional severance wasnt great but if I saw that in cash lying on the ground you can bet Id pick it up. I was very nice when asking and told them I had always envisioned retiring from there and I tried to make them feel a little guilty.

Need advice on a specific question!
Interviewed with Chicago court 2 weeks ago; they decide mid-August. Interviewed with DC judge last week; hear from him by this Friday. Chicago said if I need an answer before August, they'd try to make a decision about me sooner.
Should I ask Chicago for an answer? Or should I wait until there's an offer from DC judge? Maybe seems better to withdraw before an offer is made rather than ask for time to think about it/turn down DC? What's proper etiquette?

I’ve been working a Boston based commercial lender for about 9 months as a credit analyst since leaving my relationship manager/portfolio manager role in agricultural lending. I’ve been presented with a portfolio analyst role they have created for me (was told not to apply for a PM role) . The offer is for $100k, is this reasonable? I feel like I have leverage due to underwriting 48% of the volume we have booked by myself and my team is 7 other analysts.

Currently going through some negations on an internal role. I’m currently at 88k and they offered me 100k for a position that requires a lot more work. Do you guys think it’s easier to land a higher salary when applying externally rather than internally? Also this is for a territory sales management role. They stated 120k+ is extremely high for that role. What do you guys think? Playing the game?

I’m interviewing for a marketing manager role at a company based in SF. I’m genuinely excited about the role and the company but we’ve yet to discuss salary. I expect to be asked at some point, but my research has given me a VERY broad range. So I’m here to do a bit more research. I’ve got 5 very relevant years of experience and will have an associate manager directly reporting to me. Are there any marketers out there who can share their salaries in similar regions and experience levels?

My husband just received a job offer on an opportunity he is really excited about. It would be great for his career and they are giving the 15% jump in base he asked for, however they won’t share what the target bonus amount would be. It’s an executive director position, so I would assume it’s a decent target bonus, but without that in writing it could honestly be a gift basket at the end of the year. Is it a red flag for them to not share this? His total comp could be less at this new job…

Clawback clause in current contract: been in role for over 2 yrs, it was an internal move that required relocation. Relocation was approved shortly after (over 2 yrs ago) but covid meant the actual move and start of my contract with new subsidiary was delayed, I was paid by the previous subsidiary meanwhile. I got small relocation package. Would internal move be subject to a buy-out/clawback clause if I leave now and if yes, is it time in role or time under new contract? Any experience? Thanks!
