Best place to score moving boxes?
Hello! Question for anyone that works at Google if I have hit my 3 applications per 90 days can I still apply to an additional role through a referral link? Or will I have to wait until the 90 days is up? Actually asking for a friend that doesn’t have this app 😊 thanks in advance for any insight.

I think $80k is way too low for a Senior in industry. You should aim at $90-$95 at least.
(cont) that raise in pay would be wiped out by the increase in COL. As such, I was thinking of countering with $92.5K. Is that amount unreasonable for a senior accountant in industry in Denver?
Depends on how much they like you and how much wiggle room they have. $92.5 seems high from $80 though. They’ll probably counter with $85 or something. I would personally hold out for higher if I was going to industry but if you really want out, like the new company/job and really want to live in Denver then go for it I guess.
Pretty sure Denver pays pretty low, so I honestly wouldn’t expect that
Do you actually want to move? If you’re trying to get to Denver go for it. But if not... doesn’t seem like it’d be worth it to move.
The SO and I really love Littleton, Parker, and a few other suburbs in Denver, but we know that the pay is going to be a strong factor in us relocating. As such, we want to find the right offer before moving.
Pass
Pass. I had a recruiter tell me 90k for the position I was applying for industry
Thanks for the quick insight everyone. I’ll hold out for at least 90k. Will let you guys know what they say in case anyone needs data points on the Denver market
At least counter with a higher salary. If you are passing anyway then you won’t care if they no, so you have nothing to lose.
Yeah that’s a reasonable counter. Be prepared for them to say no though
I personally wouldn’t. The firm has been trying to get me up to NYC for a while now, I’ve been a remote worker for nearly a year, problem is the taxes and COL. what does your firm pay in Denver at your level?
@PwC 2: I think my firm would pay me 75-80k if I were in Denver.
I hear you. Some speciality groups are less stress than core. Keep your options open and don’t block out advancement/transfer in PA. I came from industry as an experienced hire about a year ago and I have no immediate plans to go back. The grass is not always greener in industry
Update: Denied. No chance they were willing to go to 90. Most they want to do is 82k with a signing bonus
Forget about it and move on! You’ll find something better in no time.
Further update: Per the recruiter, the company interviewed with thought I had a soft background, but they were willing to bring me on at the lower salary of $80k...it stings a little because I really liked the Company and what they do, but I gotta stick it out for 90k...right?
FWIW: I’m currently at a top 20 firm and was a senior for three years at a small firm before this.
I mean I’m at 93k at EY as a S1, (risk advisory) but brought on doing completely new work with stuff I really want to be doing (transactions / deals) and they bumped me up to a senior (coming as an associate). So I’m willing to put up with the lower end of the salary in a high COL because I’m doing what I hope will be my eventual end career goal - keep at it
