Serious question:

As a Registered Nurse with 11 years sales experience, why am I constantly turned down for healthcare-related sales roles? Yet on the flip side, I've gotten tons of offers in industrial or engineering spaces.

I've worked PRN as a nurse while I've been in sales. All of my sales roles were engineering-based in mechanical tools or chemicals. I've sold into various industries (energy, O&G, aerospace, pharma, HI&I, water treatment, etc). Just looking to get back to my roots.

Seems like medical sales rep are all young recruits and considered an entry level job which in your case, you are probably overqualified with your years of experience?

You’ve worked in sales, but can you provide examples of wins you’ve had? Numbers? Exceeding quota? Also, are you blindly applying, or are you messaging hiring managers directly on LinkedIn and messaging employees if the companies you are applying with? Even with industry experience, blindly applying seldom works. Most companies try to promote internally.

Certainly nothing wrong with going directly to the decision maker. LinkedIn premium is worth it so you can message regional managers or district managers directly

I agree, the best way to get into Med Device is to know someone in the industry. If you work with any reps, it couldn’t hurt to talk to them about a job opportunity.

I'm a third year plaintiff's employment law attorney and I'm looking to move to defense, preferably still in employment law. I received an offer from a midsize firm that primarily focuses on PI with little-to-no employment law practice, so I'll have a bit of a learning curve. Offer is $90k, billable hours of 2100. Is this reasonable? I'm dead-set on leaving my current job, and this would be a $20k pay increase - which makes me believe I'm leaning towards taking it for those reasons only.

Midtier Valuation Advisory to Banking? I have an offer from a midtier accounting firm (BDO) for their Associate position in the Valuation Advisory team.

I’m thinking to switch to the Advisory role as a stepping stone to break into banking in a few years, or if that’s not possible then into Big 4. However, still considering accepting the offer because will be getting a 25% pay cut.

I’ve been working in Sales in a non-finance field for few months after finishing BBA in Finance & CFA L1.

Working on a divorce where the father is claiming that he is unemployed because of the previous administration’s actions with DACA (he was brought to the States as a child). I know that the memo rescinding DACA was ultimately vacated—but OC is unsure whether this would count as voluntary unemployment for child support purposes. I believe it does as the application period to renew DACA benefits was reopened in 2020. Thoughts?

Does really Collaboration work or it's just a myth. Always hearing from Offshore manager is that take more ownership like from offshore we should be working 80% and only 20% will leave for onshore because of time difference..

Is it really a collaboration or simply a cold War between offshore and onshore ownership..
