IT audit isn’t that bad 🙄

Right. It’s extremely bad.

Transfer into Cyber

like

It’s quite some work but you have to establish a strong business case (relevant certs and experiences, great reviews, etc.). In addition, partner from the cyber side has to want to pull you in as he/she will be initiating the transfer process. This is all easier at the staff level but I’ve seen it happen in higher rankings too. Personally, I think the hardest is getting staffed on a project in another service line such as cyber but it is possible. If you want to learn more, feel free to DM.

Well sort of. Pivoted out of IT Audit into Project Management. So far so good

No niche. It’s all internal currently, probably within a year I’ll be more focused to one aspect

Moved into a SOC from IT audit

Trying to move to cyber

Managed to jump into cyber in fintech sector after 4 years in IT audit.

Moved to security compliance in a industry role and I love it .

Moved to Cyber analyst role (governance, risk, compliance) in fintech sector after 4 years.

It’s a combination of networking and timing. It turned out that the employer was in big need of someone with SOC audit experience and were willing to teach cyber on the job. Make yourself known and use the interviews you get as networking opportunities.

FAANG (or MANGA) companies seem to be the holy grail for lots of people exiting BIG4 or even banking/consulting types looking for finance analyst type roles in industry.

Anecdotally, the pay & culture seems good at those companies, but are there significant cons to "finance analyst" type roles in those orgs which would deter you from working from them? (I.e work hours, progression etc?)

How do you get leverage as an internal transfer? A buddy of mine with similar experience and location received an external offer for nearly $100k TC more than my internal offer for the same role. I haven’t accepted it yet, and I’ve already caused a stir in my previous org. Should I accept an offer I’m already bitter about? Is my only recourse to now leave the company? Leaving would hurt both my previous org and new org.

I'm a non-traditional CD analyst working in a niche industry (gambling)

My experience is as follows: BIG4 Audit > FP&A (CPG) > CD analyst (1 year)

I like my role (sourcing, modelling and strategy integration), however I don't see myself working in this industry long term. Without a generalist IB background, are my chances of transitioning over to a different Industry low? If so, is there anything I can learn or do (excluding IB)?

Thanks

How is everyone dealing with the overpriced car prices? Been in the market for a while searching for a car between leasing a car from a dealership and buying used from FB. I’m fine with either option, especially since it’s going to be my first car, but not for $6k above MSRP. Worst part is, dealers are sitting around and have got nasty at my sister and I when they’ve been trying to milk us.

Is this even legal? Any alternatives options are appreciated
