You never want to “wait” on getting something sold. That can happen tomorrow, a few weeks, months out. Don’t mess with util because at the end of the day, that metric is used in performance and/or promotion discussions. Talk to your resource manager, look for opps outside your current team, etc. If you’re new to consulting, your util isn’t a big deal in your first year. If you’re 2+ years in, time to take project staffing into your own hands. Gotta be assertive here.
Thanks for the advice! I am new to consulting and to this firm but yeah good advice to be more proactive even if my utilization isn’t a big deal in my first year.
This is common: to wait for client signal. I Wouldn’t overthink
Would second this. Theres a lot that can go on behind the scenes when it comes to getting client approval for bringing in a new person.
Sounds like it’s the client who refuses to book you . Have you been on project interviews or don’t you come that far?
Which bench?
Doesn’t look like a good sign .. I would start looking for another job asap
Oh I just joined this job few months ago. I mean I like working here but just last couple of weeks I am getting anxious because of not being staffed! Also with these recession talks it does make me scared that things are not looking good.
