So wells fargo is requiring at least 30 days notice when resigning for the majority of employees (vp ang up). Only entry level and seniors are off the hook. Wth

As of this posting I am now personally requiring “Wells Fargo” to give employees 270 days of notice before any type of separation

likefunny

Exactly the type of thing I was going to say!

like

Would Wells Fargo give you 30day notice that you will be let go? Do unto them as they do to you.

like

If you're in an at-will employment state, or did not sign something that created that commitment - I suggest you read the fine print.

like

I had to give a 30 day notice at JPM when I left. They can’t legally hold you to it but I didn’t want to be blacklisted from the firm either. It was also in my offer letter, not something they just tried to impose on me.

like

30 for VP at JPM.

like

They gonna give you a 30 day notice when they fire your ass? No? Maybe don’t sweat it then. Other employees won’t consider this when doing EV checks.

like

Employee: Here is my two week notice. Wells Fargo: You are required to continue working for 30 days. Employee: No *exit stage left*. How exactly do they plan on enforcing this?

like

How do they prevent you from leaving or just not showing up?
Does this mean they give you at least 30 days' notice before termination?

like

There's an ongoing joke on the company bowl where every other Tuesday people post how many lay offs in their team. 0 day notice.

like

This just means they'd be paying me out for 30 days instead of two more weeks.

I gave a 3 week notice when I left consulting. I had gotten staffed to start a project in Nova Scotia (in February) the next week, so I resigned before needing to take that trip. They paid it all out, plus the PTO.

like

There is no such thing as loyalty to these places. Walk away.

like

And if you're in an at-will state and don't give such notice, what can they do?

The C-suite positions are not as easy to fill, unless they are grooming a current team member to be promoted from within for the leadership role, it can take months, sometimes years for an adequate replacement. I am not understanding the confusion in this statement. Is there a question here or only a statement?

I'm just complaining. I agree with your statement, but this applies to VPs (30days), EDs(60), MDs(90days). VPs and EDs are not leadership positions by any means. There's thousands of us. A VP is really an experienced individual contributor in most cases.

Seems that the vaccine that usually takes more than 10 years to develop, test for side effects and go through the regulation process is being very fast tracked to roll out - which is a super great thing to potentially eradicate the virus. on the other side of the spectrum, people with life sciences n healthcare insights, how reliable and safe would you say vaccine (being fast tracked) is...?

I ask because I’ve let my credit spending get a bit lax since moving and adopting a puppy recently, so I haven’t been paying them off in full every month like I used to (though still well above the minimum payment, and keeping utilization at 30% or under). It got me thinking about how many people adhere to this advice.
