I have recently joined EY SaT group as senior consultant recently in Netherlands. I’m tripple masters in MS economics, MBA and MS business analytics. Have 4 YOE in different industries but no M&A experience specifically. Any ideas what company should be offering me? I’ll be working as expert on commercial due diligence, FDD and valuation teams and doing automation alongside. is it wise to demand higher salary or promotion soon after I have proven that I can work and do it better than most?EY

I got a remote L6 SWE offer at Google but the RSUs are too low for that level ($625k over 4 years), could not negotiate it higher. I’ve accepted the offer but trying to be hopeful that I could make it more equitable in the future if I perform well. Are stock refreshers based on the initial RSU grant or solely based on performance? Google

That is the scary truth about advisors and consultants relishing the WFH option and effectively declining to go back to the office any time soon. Firms and clients can see that pretty much all of our work can be done off-shore as we've clearly shown it can be done WFH. There may be carnage and difficult times ahead. Covid19 will have a lot to answer for.
The irony of consultants getting off-shored is killing me. Don’t get me wrong, I know the trend was started by consultants a generation ahead of most of you and I don’t want any of you all to lose your jobs—but things can be funny and sad at the same time.
Interesting. This is definitely believable. I'm in SF and I don't doubt that we're going to see an exodus of the startups here in the next year.
Best of luck, I hope you're able to land something else soon.
Yeah, and corporate taxes about to go up depending on what happens in GA, which would likely lead to even further cost saving measures like offshoring.
Yep. It’ll open a lot of eyes about the remote possibilities. They’ll still need people to present and sell the work to clients. God knows most account people can’t sell work anymore. I imagine lower level ADs, designers and writers will be offshored. CDs will be cut in numbers and just used as babysitters and talking heads.
As opposed to now, when they are __________?
What type of role are you looking in? Consultant or tech? Curious to see if this trend is about skilled roles or strategic roles

What do you mean? The replacement is in a country that is not the same as the company or client's main office.
Yeah I don’t know if the strategy will be sent offshore. The technical work is and will continue to be. Like if Ford wanted a company in India to be their consultants they would do so vs hiring Strategy& to do it for them. Because if all big firms did is outsource then the client would just go straight to the source at wayyyyy less money.
