I think this is true. Of course depends a little on from where they’re coming. Like there are many Chinese students but I don’t believe they are particularly antisemitic. But Europe tends to be a lot more antisemitic than here. Of course Muslim countries are extremely antisemitic. You can google the statistics. Eastern Europe has a huge percentage of people who hold antisemitic beliefs. Western Europe has more Muslims so more violent acts against Jews. This is documented.
Just because Trump and other republicans claim universities are antisemitic doesn't make it so. People are finally beginning to realize that claim is being used as ann excuse to go after universities. Btw, pro-Palestinian protests and anti-Israeli stances on Israel's horrible treatment of Palestinian civilians is not in necessarily antisemitic. One can criticize Israel's behavior and still believe in the value of Israel. That is, if one has a functioning brain. . .
Partner 2 - using your logic, the 1mm Jews that were ethnically cleaned from all of the Arab countries have the right to “violently resist.” It’s incredible who firms will make a partner these days….
Stannis: “fewer”
Perfect. Chef's kiss. Golf clap. All the things.
Interesting! Probably correct, but it really depends on where the international students are from. Jews, for example, are unlikely to be antisemitic.
I’m always glad to make an obviously correct point!
I'm international. Before I came to US, I didn't even know there was such a thing as anti-Semitic.
A1. I'm not trying to be proud. Apologies if my language made you feel that way. All this shows that allowing international students to come to US could provide exposure on the topic, in some instances.
That makes no sense. International students could be from anywhere. There are countries where antisemitism is almost non-existent. The ADL does an index of countries you can request data for.
“Interesting thought, but I’m not really following. Why do you think *fewer* int’l students would result in less antisemitism?” I’ve found that showing curiosity (not judgment) when faced with an awkward and potentially offensive statement helps clarify and oftentimes shows the person misspoke or something.
That ignorant comment just proves that the US needs international students/perspective.
This was said at work? Inform HR. It's a blatant violation.
