Sometimes I feel miserable at my job, even though I know it’s very cushy and pays well compared to what the vast majority of people make. I don’t work in a coal mine or even doing high stress litigation and yet sometimes I just can’t stand to sit at this computer and review contracts.

And then I remember why - our monkey brains are programmed to roam the savannahs and forests looking for food and places to run and play. A computer job is antithetical to our biological desires.

Give it a few thousand years. The Morlock descendants of the computer-adept will let your descendants run the Savannah again, till it is time for the sirens.

No one has asked me specifically about pro bono stuff at my company - if I know there’s no conflict of interest, is this something I should disclose? To whom should I disclose this?

Got another perm offer in a different industry for similar salary, but I might have to relocate and I'm concerned the work may involve translation instead of pure legal work.

Considering taking a position with a small-cap in the US trying to build their legal department. Any in-house antitrust counsel willing to offer up some advice? I just started in a firm's well-regarded antitrust group. What do I do over the next few years to make myself most marketable to move in-house? And when is that move actually feasible/ideal for antitrust specialists?

Seems like I can pull work from the whole discipline (merger clearance, civil lit, criminal) — should I spread myself across all of it to maximize my skillset/marketability?

All thoughts and advice welcome. TYSM :)
