Hi Everyone, I am trying to apply for a Technical Support role at Dropbox I’m entering all the required fields but there seems to be an issue, when I hit submit after filling the form, it doesn’t submit and throws error ‘Looks like you left this blank! Please fill out this required field’ when all the fields are entered already (I have checked so many times, and filled the form from scratch several times too). Anyone from Dropbox who can put me in touch with HR or suggest what I should do next?
I recently interviewed for L7 EM at Google and had 4 great interviews and one not so great system design. I submitted external referrals all of which gave great feedback. The recruiter said the next step is team match/interviews and then the HC. Anyone in a similar situation? What was the result? Google

Allow me to play devil’s advocate a bit: leadership means accountability, and it means being willing to be the one on the hook for hard calls. Caution and thoughtfulness are always warranted, but not choosing is itself a choice. Sometimes taking an extra week to wait for better information is as risky as making the decision today. Sometimes it can even be counterintuitively worse to wait than to guess. If you are decisive and accountable then that makes you look like a leader. And if you do choose to wait and analyze, you can do that in a leader-like way too. Don’t say “I’m not ready to decide, we need more time,” say, “it’s my responsibility to make the right choice here and that means I’m choosing to get more details about our options.” Same action, different presentation, and the second one shows to others that you are aware of both the costs of delay and the costs of error.
Problem solving, giving people the tools to do their own job, and not swooping in to do it for them. That will probably be very different. Do you notice similar traits in your current leadership? That could help figure out what matters the most there.
Very hard to learn when you aren’t the one doing it! But also need the support to get through it, know what went well, what could help next time. My manager was like that, and it’s something I really look for now.
a trait of a good leader is taking calculated risk. Cautious and thoughtful is good but if that comes with delaying decision making, then that means losing opportunity Which is seen as weak leadership. The skill to make decision with limited information distinguishes good leaders from the rest!
Communication and transparency. Which I suppose kind of go hand in hand. Working at a place where everyone is on the same page is doing wonders for my mental health after 4 years at a complete dumpster fire of a company.

Yes totally agreed. I have experienced when everyone’s not aligned on the same page and it feels impossible to move forward on the smallest things

Open communication and being supportive of other team members. With the right team everything else falls into place.

Love that! Thanks

The topmost is open communication, and the second is entrusting them to their job they are hired for.

Communication seems to be the theme here. Thanks and totally agree!
