My Partners are spread out across the US, they do not care where I sit as long as I take care of their asks, which I do. Not sure why it matters to superiors where I am sitting on any given day. Would be so nice if work flexibility applied to EY EA's as well.
THIS RIGHT HERE
Well, looks like some execs will have to learn to get their own lunch. 😂
Ironically after years of fighting to keep in the office even though the people being supported were not.
For all the talk/articles of companies having ‘smaller footprint’, keeping their employees happy with WFH, work/life balance…why do EAs have to be in the office at all?
Exactly! So why are so many of us being forced back to the office?
There are many advantages to having EAs in office. First, working remote has worked over the last 18 months while most of the globe was remote. Most will now to return to office where being together allows greater access to information, training and mentoring (including informally), building office culture, etc. We will return to office but have greater flexibility and increased WFH than we did pre-Covid. Lastly, if we say we can be fully remote then be prepared for more jobs moving to lower cost locations - it just makes sense! I, for one, am thankful to work at OW where I do feel valued, appreciated and included - and get to participate in developing our return to office plan.
EA1, the cost of parking is so ridiculous!
Unfortunately, not all of us can work for OW nor feel valued where we are. Many of us support people in a variety of offices, and we’re able to do that perfectly fine. So why can’t we continue to do so without being forced to actually be in an office? As EY1 mentioned, why should it matter where we sit on any given day as long as we continue to support our people?
Pre-pandemic it was like a library at the office. Other consulting EAs were crazy busy and everyone else was traveling or at client sites. Bad hair day? No matter, no one was around to notice. It truly felt like a waste of time and money to commute. Connections were strong with peers and friends in other offices and remain so with teams, etc.
Hi. I’ve heard KPMG has gone fully remote for their EA’s.
Yes indeed.
PWC
EA’s at Baker Tilly can be fully remote, but there may be exceptions to that rule for special occasions.
We'll be required to be in the office 3 days a week starting in the fall at Kearney.
PwC in general, thoughts? Is anyone left who works in an office that isn’t a low cost-of-living/center of excellence location?
