Wait until you’ve started school. Then use the school’s discounted software program. You can save a ton of money.
To that end, also consider taking the time to purchase any other software products you can at a discount.

Not recommended to use Mac but if you have to, buy parallels to install virtual machine letting you run both Mac and windows os at same time
This is what I did.. until I just bought a PC because the VM was limited at a certain point.
I had a MacBook Air when I went through my MBA and ran parallels. It was fine, and I managed through, but as a finance guy I had to pivot to a PC after the fact anyway and relearn shortcuts, etc. If finance is your focus, PC is the way to go.
It's not necessarily superior, but most industries lean toward PC. Obvious exceptions are artistic design industries (graphic design, interior design, media, etc). But just about any other industry you work in, your work computer will be a PC, and because of some of the software you might have to use, Mac may not even be an option.
Most people in my program regretted sticking with their Mac, find a solid Lenovo for sub $1k or other brand of choice
Wait until you’ve started school, you’ll most likely get a discount and proper instructions so you don’t mess up your computer.
Windows or Microsoft suite?
Watch Dell and Lenovo sales.
Keep you Mac, download Office for Mac (student edition) when you receive your student discount.
VMware is free I’d you need a virtual desktop but you should be able to do most things without it and just use Office for Mac software.
Consider buying a PC
I used a pen and paper throughout my entire MBA program.
Which year was it?

Install VMware
Keep your Mac and then watch for a deal on a windows based computer. I did half of undergrad with a Mac and then the rest + grad school with a pos dell and it was so so much better.
Easy answer is buy a Lenovo / cheap PC for excel work
You should be able to get free Windows version. Check on youtube and you will tons of videos of how to install windows on a mac.
