That’s not how being a partner works, you are awarded the ability to buy units each year that are worth a specific amount of profit based on firm performance, your revenue, your partner rank, etc. Depends on the year, longevity of the partner and other factors - that said I’ve heard first year is somewhere between 300-400k but you have to pay for the units so typically first year you don’t make much overall compared to say 5th year partners. I’m unsure if this is adjusted for COL but I doubt it.

My dad is a partner at another firm. His comp includes: Salary, Bonus, Dividends from equity owned, additional equity offerings, unrealized equity appreciation.
