Love the neighborhood around the Picasso Museum for interesting cafes, a ballet or opera if that’s available. Louvre is always good to check out, and it’s huge so no shortage of things to see there. If you love chocolates and baked treats, I recommend the neighborhood near Sacre Couer. Notre Dame and the nearby neighborhood is excellent to walk and a great spot for evening dinner or dessert.
Le Marais is my favorite neighborhood. Super walkable, easy access to the major sites via metro, cool vibe, vintage shops and big shops and cafes. My favorite hotel is there called Maison Proust. It’s pricey and rooms are small but it is so beautiful, the food is amazing, staff is so lovely, and you can have private hamam sessions. Renaissance Republique is a solid option too. If you’re down to spend a day at Versailles, highly recommend. Get the membership ahead of time if you do. Page is in French, but just use Google Translate. It’s about the same price as 2 tickets AND you get to bypass the entire line and go right to the front door. It saves an hour or more of waiting in line most days.
Parc Zoologique is very pretty and has a menagerie which was unexpected when I happened upon it. One of my favorite spots is Pere Lachaise. Fall is a great time for a visit there.
I lived there for a bit and traveled there a lot. Go with an open mind and know it won’t be like what you see in movies or shows. Starting conversations with any bit of French goes a long way in my experience. There is a ton to see and do. I love it there.
Agree with the Le Marais recommendation. There is a small bakery run by two young ladies called Moon Croissant. Lovely place to grab coffee and uniquely flavored Croissants before starting your day.
Oh check out Le Foodist, if your daughter likes cooking/baking it would be a fun class! (I really enjoyed it) https://www.lefoodist.com/
If your budget allows, I’d recommend semi private group tours (under 10 people or so) of the louvre and the d’Orsey. It will make the experience more enjoyable for both of you.
I don’t have any suggestions, but what a great daughter and mother trip ✨

Paris with a 12-year-old sounds amazing! I'd stay in Le Marais or Saint-Germain, take a macaron class, visit Rue Crémieux, and spend a day at Disneyland if she loves thrills. I also found the royal caribbean phone number https://royal-caribbean.pissedconsumer.com/customer-service.html useful since it clearly explains booking options, cruise planning, travel documents, and reservation details in one place for future family adventures.
