Hi fellow fishies!
Can someone please explain what is “SUPPLEMENTARY allowance” in my payslip??? It is the highest in my entire payslip, more than basic salary. Basic is lets say ₹7 lac annually and supplementary bonus is ₹7 lac 40 thousand.
Can someone please explain why this exists in my paylslip, is it good or bad from tax perspective and shall I ask my HR to decrease it???
Please help asap.

So that's how much a PwC Manager gets
Agree with D2. When I was interviewing last year for Senior Associate roles at PwC, p was offering me a higher base than the banks. I was shocked but the consulting base is nothing to be frowned upon.
I think you should get promoted and then leave
K1 am torn because I have the opportunity to interview for some roles in industry. Normally would stay but PwC has been somewhat unstable this year.
I thought your promotion is round the corner.. You can evaluate it through oppty cost. 1. Extra money you will make once you jump vs what will you get staying back . 2. Also how much they will hike per year in banks and how much they hike per year in banks. 3. Career optty in both 4. Exit oppty. 5. Layoff scenarios. 5. Create an excel with NPV to help you with decision
Haha thanks for the advice. Yes, unfortunately the layoff scenario and partner track are now factors in my decision. So it's a harder choice then when you are 4-5 years out of undergrad.
I thought layoffs are all done
No k1 I mean long-term job security. Making Partner or running a business at a bank is much harder. In consulting it's a clear-cut path.
Banks from time to time will restructure and try to reduce costs as well.. You can't rule out layoff there.. I am glad you are taking all factors into consideration. Include spouse support and emergency savings
No spouse. Single girl here. Need to earn the $$$$. But thanks for your perspective.
You will have soon. Best of luck in search. Keep us posted. I am trying some bank jobs too. The stupid project is so exhaustive I am only recovering on weekends. Do you know recruiters in banks?
K1 banks are hard but they seem to be hiring in compliance. Michael Page, Selby Jennings etc are big recruiters for banks. I am more interested in investment firms. The interesting jobs at banks (cap markets, strategy or equity research) are very hard to get.
Here's my burner email: novah077@gmail.com for some knowledge sharing on recruitment front. I was referring to investment banks. Not retail.
Glad you both were able to work something out. 😂 anyone got a Burner email for me for innovation/strategy roles. I definitely thank you for the bank role/CTO role scares me a bit, but definitely will entertain it.
OP: ok back Again as I waiting for haircut :). Is that what you want IT strategy Director / CTO kind of role in new firm ?
Usually roles for CTO etc are filled by head hunters . The strategy times are risky as that the first place where you slash when you don't have budget. How much total years of experience you have?
~7 yrs strategy. Not looking for pure strategy and not pure technology either. A true liaison of business and IT would be a dream role.
Total 7 years exp. You are looking for CTO roles?
