Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

I was just recently hiring for a position and I interviewed a specialist, and the next day the specialists manager. Oddly enough, the specialist was way more intelligent and capable than the manager. We hired somebody else, but still a funny story
😵
How’d that turn out the next day?
A+feel good thread
@SVP 1 I don’t know OP, but this happened to me a couple years ago. I made a bad choice and joined an awful agency. My boss had already been at said agency for 2 years and was over the BS but didn’t leave right away until he has something lined up since his wife just gave birth to their first daughter.
Another agency recently won a big account and decided to do a job fair. I not only saw my boss there as I was leaving but also saw another employee there too as I arrived. We knew how much we each wanted to leave so we looked out for each other.
It’s certainly rare which is why I can understand you questioning this, but also very possible.
Are you their boss now?
No lol and we’re on different accounts
Seems like a great time to ask for a raise
Poor of the agency interviewing you both to allow that to happen. Should be a warning sign about how they operate.
A friend I worked with called me one morning for a pep talk before an interview. I pumped her up and told her I had an interview that day too. Turns out it was for the same job. Not only that, but when I was at the agency waiting to interview, a coworker walked out as I was walking in. Then, after my interview another coworker was waiting to interview next. All four of us were interviewing for the same position (they were filling more than one slot). None of us got it.
Amazing
God I hope that’s true
