I’ve also learned you need to be able to sit in uncomfortable silence. Many times I’ll openly ask for help and when none of my team volunteers immediately, I can’t sit still and I just say I’ll do it myself and move on.
Yes!! So important to remember
That's a good point. If you acknowledge someone's good work you'll get more good work from them. It's really that simple. All too often we get distracted with deadlines and moving fast and we forget to simply praise people or thank them. And over time that leads to people thinking their contributions don't count and aren't appreciated, and morale slowly crumbles.
It’s so true! Great way to manage
In addition to acknowledging their decisions, I would add giving them the opportunity to make more of them, instead of just setting the course. This should make them more self-confident ("boss wouldn't ask me to do this if he didn't value my input") and gives them more experience making recommendations and backing them up.

This is so true. I learned a long time ago as a leader you often have to boost people's confidence. When you acknowledge the small things, it can make a big difference.
