The small ortho clinic I worked for was bought out in July. It was handled horribly-we didn’t know who our employers were until 2 days before the acquisition date. Then, we have to work from home because they’re turning our department space into storage. One of my coworkers already left; I don’t feel like I’m helping patients on a personal level anymore and I consider leaving every day. I wouldn’t even know what position to transition to if I left. o

Hi, looking for some advice. I’ve been a medical assistant for 10 years, and am finishing up my bachelor’s in healthcare management. However finding hard looking for practice or office manager positions, as they’re looking for people with 3+ years of management experience. How can I get an organization to take the chance to invest in me and give me the opportunity to prove I have what it takes. We all have to start somewhere.

So I say this with complete humility and an understanding that this is a fortunate-ish situation to be in. I’m in a position where I am tied to nothing, I have no children, spouse, or house. My job, which I’ve loved until some recent significant leadership changes, is sucking the life out of me and I think it may be time for a change. Because I am able to “pick up and go” I’m open to opportunities and locations. I’ve never worked with a recruiter but was hoping I could get some recommendations!
