Legit question, would Love an HR person to explain to us how having to be medicated by your job is reasonable accommodations?
Might be a weird dilemma of do we bad dogs because of (theoretically) one person, or do they have to create an area with no dogs.
I’m also wondering how these policies got started?
JEALOUS! Working in an office filled with dogs sounds like an absolute dream 😍 Unless you have allergies, which in that case, a nightmare. There is no way that you're the only one experiencing these issues when so many people have allergies to dogs. Maybe you can find out if anyone else in the office is feeling the same and collaborate on a plan? I would definitely imagine this to be grounds to WFH, though. I'm sure even a doctor could provide some sort of narrative on that to validate your case.
I don’t think I need to get an attorney, just hoping HR will help me be in a dog free zone or something maybe idk

Years ago, I interviewed for a CD position at Purina. Your desk had a doghouse attached to it for your pet. I wanted to work there just for that. A pet-friendly environment is expected there, but I would never bring my dog knowing it’s making some co-workers miserable. I know allergic people don’t want to be the bad guys, but it’s unfair to you.
Sounds like a great place for dog lovers!!!
People are allowed to have their dogs where you work? I would think because of allergies they wouldn't be allowed. That is crazy that they allow that when people have allergies. I would definitely talk to them about working from home.
I am curious when people will start having to bring their ‘support’ animals with them to work and won’t have a choice to just keep popping Claritin’s. That’s already true for apartment rentals and airport.
That's terrible, I'm sorry you have to deal with it. That sounds like a very valid reason to work from home to me. Have you brought this up with your boss? I don't know how anyone could expect you to be productive in that environment and hope that they'd be willing to accommodate you.
I hope so too! They said it is up to HR not them haha
