Why do you think this culture exists?
But you know what? I think with Gen Z coming on board, things are changing. The old partners are realizing that they need to change if they want to get through to new talent and I think this culture will slowly shift as newer gens keep coming through.
In my experience, negative feedback is very time consuming to give especially if the person has shown they can’t improve with minimal guidance. It’s why people get pushed out and feel blindsided, but most of the time it’s because they’re not a quick learner/adapter. Generally people are given feedback to improve early on and if they don’t, they receive the next round of negative feedback as a PIP or when they’re fired.
