I don't know if I think messaging was the problem this time around. I think the missteps had to do with switching candidates so late in the game and running a candidate who was tied to an increasingly unpopular administration. I don't think any amount of messaging changes would have been enough to overcome that.

True. I feel your POV. I do think there’s a messaging issue because so many people were flat out unaware of all the good work the administration did achieve in the last four years.
I keep thinking of Pizza Hut. You can change up the messaging all you want. You can revamp and refresh. You can switch up the team members in charge of the messaging. But if your product has a reputation for having been tastier in the past, and not as good now, no amount of messaging is going to sway public opinion. You have to massively overhaul the product itself first.
