There's always lessons to be learned and it's usually a negative one from toxic environments. What’s something positive you learned from working in a toxic environment?

You can learn a lot from a toxic environment. It may not be a pleasant experience, but dealing with toxic characters can, in some ways, teach you a lot about human nature. Something I've learned is the value of just being able to toughen up to be able to shrug off a lot of stuff. If you always take the bait you're playing their game. And it's often better to just do your work, do a good job for yourself, and don't get bogged down in petty nonsense.

You can value yourself whatever you want. Don't let your toxic workplace determine your value.

I learned exactly what I like and what I don't. I learned it the hard way, but it means I'm super sure of who I am and know not to take something I don't like in future.

Hi! Can someone recommend a source for learning how do simple, fun music lessons on Zoom? I teach first grade and use music for my transitions. I would also like to play songs for them with my guitar, but am concerned it won’t sound good on zoom (the guitar, not my voice, which is bad, we established that long ago)

I heard a commercial on the radio for Verizon that said something to the effect that parents are now learning how to lesson plan. Are any of you off the hook for lesson planning? Just wondering because I’m over here busting my butt!

Did anyone else adopt the new Florida Wonders curriculum? We just adopted it this school year, and I teach 4th grade. My team and I have not found a good flow, schedule, or whatever you want to call it. We feel like it teaches too many skills in one lesson, and we are not able to truly teach anything “deep” enough for students to master. Does anyone have any insight? What do you do? Do you like the curriculum? Why or why not? Would you be willing to share what you do weekly/daily? Thanks!
