Investment banking, PE, Equity Research are all exit options for valuations.
I haven’t seen vals to PE investment team either but have seen FDD to LMM PE. PE is much more operationally focused instead of pure modeling which might be why you don’t really see val guys
It would be much easier for someone in Val to do well in an FP&A interview, as our job entirely consists of modeling. In my experience, however, most people in Val aren’t looking to exit into FP&A as (1) Most have finance backgrounds, could’ve done FP&A out of college but chose not to (2) Some FP&A jobs can be accounting heavy, and most of us are not accountants. The most common exit I’ve seen is into strategic finance.

In your opinion what is the difference between FP&A and Strat Fin? Aren't most strat fin people ex bankers and ex-consultants?
Strategic finance, IB, VC
I don’t know why people think corp dev is rarer from B val I think most of the people from my team exits to corn dev PE or banking and far less go to FP&A. Def think it’s a realistic option
