Get anything in writing. I've been on all sides of the M&A situation, and it's good to be a knowledgeable person from the org being acquired who can help with the transition. For me, this came with a contact for a significant bonus if I stayed with the org through the merger end date (18 months). Totally worth it to have that time to plan my next move while having guaranteed work and pay.
No, not always. If you’re making a lot of money for the business and you build good realtiaonhisps with the higher ups you should be ok.
Make the money while you can, and just because it’s acquired doesn’t mean you’re not sticking around. Best case, plenty of longer tenured people get offered buyouts and you stay on since they expect you’re in for the long haul. Good luck 👍
Well... the bigger org was the one acquired. Smaller org owns it now. Also there's a woman who has been there 15 years they aren't giving the role to. They say she's a strong operator but not "strategic.". I'd expect some drama or insubordination.
Jobs are scarce. Take the job and save as much as you can in case they lay you off.
