Thinking about taking a contract gig instead of jumping straight into another full-time role. I’m burnt out, not totally sure what I want next, and the idea of being “permanent” anywhere right now makes my skin crawl. I just want space to think without derailing my résumé or tanking my income. Has anyone here used freelance or temp roles to reset between chapters? Did it help you figure things out, or just delay the inevitable decision?

I used a 6-month contract to explore other industries, test out working styles, and rebuild confidence after a toxic job. It gave me breathing room and real data about what I wanted. Just be clear with yourself: Is this a pause or a pivot? Both are valid, but different.

Hi I have 5+ yrs of bedside clinical research nurse experience and have been trying to pivot to the CRO world. I have applied to over 40+ positions and keep getting rejected. I have reformatted my resume to ATS but that doesn’t seem to be working either. Why is it so hard to get into the CRO industry and why is my hospital experience not translating? Thanks

How do you keep up/in touch with your network? Mine barely post anything on LinkedIn, so commenting on their posts is out of the question, and apparently it's impolite to just message or email them if the job searcher doesn't have anything to share besides asking for a referral or opening. If I don't have any relevant information to share with them, what should I do?

I’m not from an English speaking country but I am watching a tv show and businessmen walk into a room and instead of greeting eachother, everyone says each person’s first name in lieu of hi, however in my experience working in the states, I haven’t seen anyone do this, it’s always hi or good afternoon or some other greeting first THEN they say their first name. is it also appropriate to omit the greeting?
