Third year ID associate at an AM200 firm and am looking for ways to get out of ID. Received a job offer from a Plaintiff’s firm with a base comp of $25k more than I’m currently making and a great bonus structure. The firm is well-known for generating a ton of business, however, has a terrible reputation in the community as being the “scum bag” lawyers that are universally hated. Is it worth it to take the offer and get out of ID (making more) but potentially hurt my reputation long term?

Need help settling a debate with my friend. She thinks I will have an easier time getting research grants because I'm male. I think it's the opposite because companies are trying to change the status quo and get more women involved (which I'm not complaining about... please don't attack me.) Which one of us is more right than the other? I'm interested in getting as many viewpoints as possible, whether or not they agree with me or with her. Thanks!!!

Other than partner track, salary/benefits, and switching from coverage to general comm lit, what qualities of the move should I be thinking about as I weigh my options?
