It’s expensive but good quality. Great ad imo.
Yeah, good copy. Makes me think “wow this is aged really well, and while it’s expensive, there’s a good reason why it’s expensive” without saying any of that.

It’s a good ad.
I thought they meant to say it's a 350$ bottle
Me too tbh!!
It’s the Macallan, not CR
Good concept, but the copy needs half an hour of finessing. It’s just a tad off.
Yeah. The good news line is weird. Whisky doesn’t cost something per year. shouldn’t it be more like:
Good news: it costs $14.
Bad news: per year.
Macallan 25 year aged whisky.
In any case, this just looks and reads like a very normal, mediocre ad from 2003. It’s not that clever.
As a scotch enthusiast, I would enjoy this headline more without the subhead explaining the joke. I already had enough info to know this is an ad for a 25-year-old whisky. I would need a logo though. The bottle design is not recognizable enough to me to know what brand it’s for, personally.
This is not a product for new entrants to the category. Only scotch enthusiasts would consider spending this much on scotch.
I feel a little stupid but I don't think I get the messaging. OP, can you explain? Or anyone?
It’s saying that the Macallan is aged well and while it’s expensive, it’s worth it.
Firstly, what is Chivas Regal? If I just saw this out on the street, I’d have no idea what was being advertised.

Canadian whiskey brand. This is an ad for Macallan though.
There are so many great whiskey ads in the award books. To be considered even “good” in this category, an ad needs to be fantastic. This one doesn’t come close. Check out the gold bar that’s “Worth its weight in Chivas.” Also, the broken bottle of Crown Royal: “Ever seen a grown man cry?” Too many more to list here.
