You might benefit from getting a mentor or business coach. At the very least, I'd try and find someone who can become your accountability partner. If those skills aren't something that comes natural to you, then you'll probably need some external support.

How do we get mentors nowadays if not through like work? I’ve had a mentor in the past but it felt so one sided.
Recognizing these weaknesses and admitting you need to work on yourself is a huge step in the process. You might surprise yourself at how much improvement you can make by simply knowing what the issues are.

I hope so! I’m being more aware and conscious about it but I’m big on self development personally and professionally
Hats of to you for being so self-reflective :) Personally, I believe the increased addiction many of us have to our screens is making it harder to maintain discipline and consistency, so believe me, it's not just you. I keep a daily to-do list and refer back to it every time I get sidetracked, and try to pay attention to the time I've lost when I do get caught up in online news or find myself scrolling through stupid cat videos on IG. For those times when I had a lot on my to-do list and it felt overwhelming, I put something on there that was easy to check off, like "brush my hair" so that I feel like I accomplished something. Then it started getting easier with time. Good luck...and know that you're not the only one!

Thank you! I just started a daily tracking journal of like foods that I eat and what I get accomplished and realized I feel good when I get it done but then I feel like daily I’m battling with time. Ima keep trying!
This is definitely something that I struggle with as well. One thing that has helped me develop discipline and consistency is creating specific goals and then tracking my progress towards those goals. For example, if I want to develop better discipline when it comes to working out, I might set a goal to work out five times a week for a month, and then track my progress each day to ensure I'm on track.

Ooh this a good one because I don’t set a date to my goals I just know what I want to do. Thank you!
Those two are kind of related. Can you give us some examples of what sorts of things you are struggling with? Having a hard time figuring out what exactly this means for you at work.

Umm so I’m studying for my series 66 (this is a work goal but considering I’ve failed it twice it’s a mind fxck of even looking at it a 3rd time) and personal goal for example I want to lose weight overall 20-25lbs (I feel like it’s been harder in my 30s)
Is this maybe an attention issue? I'm also a member of the ADHD Consultants Bowl (yes there is a bowl for absolutely everything).

You know what I did self diagnose and that could be it!
Try working on your habits. One book that can help you is "The Power of Habit" by Charles Duhigg. Focus on short-term wins, and you will see enormous progress by the end of the year!

Thank you!
Good on you for being self aware. A good start would be to set up a proper working routine. Have concrete plan and goals from the minute you wake up. Limit your screen time/scrolling aimlessly time. It's easy to get distracted so stay away from devices that contribute to your procrastination as much as possible. And give yourself tiny rewards for your accomplishments. You'll get into the groove sooner than later. Good luck to you!

Thank you!
Admitting your flaws is a good start. I've been there and all you need is a gradual change through discipline. One step at a time and you'll be fine. Have you tried getting professional help?
Bowl Leader
Nopeee I have not… I try to see if I can make the change first … I think if I set a target date for completion maybe that will help?
