This is probably an odd question, but i just found out that the professor who is teaching a tax class I’m in for school, is the Tax manager from a local firm who is assigned to our taxes as a company (I’ve worked with him regarding our taxes).

This isn’t like conflict of interest or anything right?

I would discuss this with someone in your company. I’m not sure it violates CoI but the tax manager should be independent in fact and In appearance.

KPMG1 I agree …it would be more for the professor/ tax advisor. For the avoidance of doubt I would still tell my company though

What would the conflict of interest be? Wouldn't that just be like a practicing lawyer who teaches a class at the local law school?

Correct @pwc1 !

This is not a conflict of interest.
