Would you prepay your mortgage (2.75%) or invest? Would you refinance 15 year or 30yr? I understand that over a long run, you can invest the difference and increase wealth. But it generally takes 10+ years to break even. What’s your reason NOT to do the 30yr mortgage?

I make $101K base salary as a Consultant/Specialist at Accenture Federal in Washington, DC. My husband is a teacher making $55K. Luckily the new manager I’ll soon be working with dismissed it. Her words of wisdom “reflect on what you could have done differently, you can only control your actions”.
