This journey is too long. Has anyone thought of giving up? How did you overcome this feeling?

Not yet! Thankfully I have a supporting family that also I can't disappoint. I know the journey is long, but we need to keep going!

I did feel that way - just before I broke through. All I can say is, I know it's hard (brutal at times), but you've come too far to throw in the towel and give up now. Keep pushing forward. Trust me - it'll all be worth it.

What's holding you back?

I gave up and went into finance. Idk if I like finance...but it's easier and I get paid way more...so.
I was just doing it for a pay raise but tbh accounting was annoying at times. Though you use your brain way more in accounting verses finance

Def feel this way. But once you pass 2 in my opinion that kinda motivates you to keep going because you’re half way there and don’t want the time and energy to go to waste

I was in public for 4.5years then made the jump to industry for 2 years now. Not sure if it’s worth still pursuing, but would like to provide to myself that I can do it :/

Always go back to your "why?" and remember that in pursuing anything you want in life it will be "hard"

I gave up after failing my first exam and hating everything about the process. Very glad I did because I didn't want to be a CPA anyway. I have since passed the CIA, CISA, and CISM exams and am headed into a cyber risk management career instead. Loving it.

Hi everyone,
I was hoping someone could give me some advice. I’ve been taking care of my extremely sick (literally on the verge of dying) dog. I work from home so it’s not too much of a nuisance but I feel distracted all day long and can hardly get anything done because I worry about my dog. I feel like I’d benefit from a day off or even half a day off but I’ve only been working for my firm for a month now, plus I have “discretionary time off.” Would it be okay for me to ask for a day off?
